Independent research under Dr. Daniel DeBlasio focused on improving
multiple-sequence alignment (MSA) accuracy by integrating secondary-structure data.
Wrote a Python script that preprocesses FASTA files, augments alignments with DSSP-derived
constraints, and outputs refined MSA ready for downstream analysis. Executed large-scale runs
on a Linux server via command line, presented preliminary results in an undergraduate event to faculty and students.
